Re: Error Message when Trying to Run Reports

What are your settings under Tournament-> Standings baseline? Particularly the "Games Played At Last Baseline"? Since you keep reusing the old program, I wonder if last year's baseline came in. I can't remember how to manually clear the baseline, but you might need to select "Prompt Me During Standi...

Re: link location = top left ... issue

Something else I found strange on your site... the current standings page doesn't have links to the individual picks. I thought that was automatic when you uploaded currentstandings & playerpicks at the same time.

Re: Entry Submission Fails on Safari (iOS)

A coworker entered using Safari on his Apple laptop with no problem. My son got an error when he tried to submit from his iPhone. I'm guessing some issue with the mobile version of Safari.

Check your schedule settings

Just a warning... I went to set up my schedule this morning, and noticed it had '63' for # of Games Played. I'm sure it's because I upgraded last year's pool file, but if I hadn't caught it and reset it, new game results wouldn't be downloaded. I think this bit me last year, so just a note to folks...

I don't use the add on, so I don't zip, but is there a chance you changed what directory on your pc the zip file is saved at? Sorry, that's all I got.

Re: Bracket layout tweaks

The lines show up on my picksheet. I feel like there might be somewhere to turn them off, but I just looked and can't find it.

As far as the spacing, no, unfortunately there's nothing you can do to change that.

Re: Load picks from Turbo Tourney not working

Hippie,

Once you downloaded the real pairings, did you deploy via web again? If not, do that immediately. I also wonder if you have some "test" bracket entries still ready for download.

Re: Upgrade from TT 2018 to TT 2019 [SOLVED]

OK, very easy now... At some point after the pairings are announced, Doug will upload them. All you'll need to do is open new.TT, then select Tournament - Pairings -> Download from web. Save new.tt. Then deploy your site (you can test your FTP settings by uploading Tournament News now). Save new.tt ...

Re: Host Turbo Tourney on my own Web Server

The /cgi-bin directory is only if you use the "advanced" deploy, and yes, the RELATIVE placement of that (I'm not familiar with /_vti_log) is important. There should be instructions under the help file. Sorry, can't help you on that one. As far as updating the website, when I did it, my webserver wa...

Re: Host Turbo Tourney on my own Web Server

Is it possible? Sure, I did it many moons ago. You'll need to find instructions on the web for how to set it up. I did a quick search and found the following: https://www.hostingadvice.com/how-to/how-to-host-your-own-website/. Now, issues that I had... 1) Unless you have a static IP assigned by your...

Do what I suggested. All your settings will be there with a blank bracket. Once the bracket is released, download it and build your website as normal.

Re: Upgrade from TT 2018 to TT 2019 [SOLVED]

The best way is to install the new year, then go to File -> File Upgrade Wizard. Pay attention to the prompts, and you'll be able to wipe out all the pairings, picks, and players (hey look, alliteration!), but keep the scoring. You'll save the new file. Open the new file & check your FTP settings (T...

Re: A Serious Error Has occurred

What directory is it trying to get you to send from?

Do you have filezilla or another FTP program on your PC that you can try to use to upload (for testing)?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling TT?

Do you have your own website or are you hosting on TT.com?

Re: Picks Previously Made

I totally agree with that ability would really help TT. However, I don't understand your line of "verification of all this doesn't occur until the tournament starts". Why doesn't this happen in the days leading up to the tournament. If I enter with "SamGordon" on Sunday night, if I do another entry ...

Re: Error Code 530 - Switched Email to Outlook.com

Try View -> Preferences -> Mail.

Under 'Authentication', check 'Login' and put your username and password.

Of course, this won't help with the 30 message/minute limit, but nothing TT can do about that.

Re: Your Opinion Is Requested

I intentionally do not include who people picked or the tie breaker before the tournament starts. I do think it gives late entries a leg up. Using this year's bracket as an example, if 90% of the people in my pool picked Villanova, I won't want to pick them (unless I'm REALLY REALLY sure they're goi...

Pull Down Selection for Tournament Scenarios [SOLVED]

I'm sure I'm missing a setting somewhere, but I remember in the past a pull down option for Tournament Scenarios. That's not showing up on my page (there are links at the bottom of the report).

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Oh, just a list showing the names of who just got imported? It's a check box in the 'Load Web Picks' window. There are three checkboxes and 'View Add List' is one of them.

Re: Imported Entries Text File

I remember there being a choice (I think) to have a txt file emailed to you after each download, but I don't remember where it is. You can manually download by going to Remote -->TT.com Control Panel -> Check Status, then under the 'Retrieved entries' area, click 'Download'.

Re: php help

I don't know how to this in php, but what I would think is something like... $num = total number of entries $i = current entry 1st column $i=1 If $i > 4num Print information for entrant $ $i $i = $1 + 2 else end 2nd column $i=2 If $i > 4num Print information for entrant $ $i $i = $1 + 2 else end I k...

Re: php help

The 27 was because there were 27 entrants at the time of my post. I can see where the two columns are listed in your code. You want the first column to be the "odd" numbered entrants and the second column to be the even numbered ones, right?

Re: php help

$i is the number of the entry, correct? so $i=1 is the first entry and $i=27 is the last entry. Do I have that right? Then $matches[1][$i] pulls the name of the entry, $matches[7][$i] is the champion, etc, etc. So what you want to do is the first column be the odd numbers and the second column be th...
