Error 12111

#1

Post by lisaltmr » Thu Mar 16, 2017 8:34 am

I am unable to get my website up. I keep getting

Error: 12111
Unable to connect to the FTP server.
The FTP session was terminated.

Can you please advise on what I'm doing wrong. First time ever having this problem.

Are you using your own web space, or the TT internet add-on?
Are you at work, or home?
Behind a firewall?
Have some kind of VPN connection?

Do you have a backup of your *.tt file??? If not save a 2nd copy somewhere other than your computer, use a flash drive or something, don't wait do it now!! Do it any time you make a change or import new entries.

OK, what about all the other questions, those are very important.

If you are behind a firewall can you turn it off.
If you are at work have you tried from home?
Can you get off a VPN if you are on one and try a standard internet connection.

I'm having the same issue. Servers too busy? Never had this issue before.

No sever issues, her problem I believe was a setup issue. Can you give us any more specifics on what you're doing and what is happening?

I have internet add on. I can send emails no problem. I can build web site but when I click FTP files, it starts and then I get the error 12111 message.

Has it worked before? Do you happen to have a large pool? Are you using the Zip option for the FTP upload or uploading the files individually? Also, does it get part way through or happen right away?

Zip option is on. The FTP window opens but no progress. I have 123 entries in my pool.

At home, Norton 360 firewall on, but I shut it down and still had the same issue and no VPN connection. I was able to download picks and send email. But can't update web page. Builds the files and get the error when it tries to FTP.

Ok good information, doesn't help in this case, but still necessary to eliminate as a possibility.

What are the other settings you have that are changeable in the FTP Manager? I am not sure what it could be off hand, so want to know what you have there.

If you can post a pic of your FTP Manager setting screen, might be easier than typing it.

Error 12111 is "connection interrupted".

@Bakdraft... any chance you're having intermittent connection issues? Maybe it's good enough for downloading and email, but the connection drops on the longer uploads?

Just a thought.
